Frances-Ann Johnston was the daughter of Franz Johnston and wife of Franklin Arbuckle. She studied under J.E.H. MacDonald, J.W. Beatty and Fred S. Haines at the Ontario College of Art and won two scholarships. She is one of Canada’s most accomplished painters of interior subjects and is also known for Christmas cards, as well as a series of Canadian Wild Flower Studies for Murray’s Restaurants. She exhibited with the RCA and other societies.
