John Kinnear studied in 1938 with Charles Bell at the Northampton Technical School and Frank Law, RA in England. He was in the H.M. Coldstream Guards from 1940-1947. Exhibitions he was a part of include the 87th Exhibition of the RCA in 1966 and also exhibitions in Ontario, Vancouver and the USA. Kinnear was a very good friend of Maud Lewis' and he made sure that she got paints to work with in the 1960's.
