Sydney Watson was born in Toronto and was Art Master at Lakefield Preparation School (1940-1944)
as well as teaching at the Ontario College of Art (1955). He exhibited works in England, USA, Australia and New Zealand. Watson was commissioned to paint murals in the Imperial Oil Head Office, Toronto; the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Montreal and the Chemistry Building at the University of Toronto.
